Audio in all types of variations for all types of uses from TV, to Music, to Gameplay are inspired and created in the most diverse ways possible. Why? Because all of these crafts and passions are human, and therefore express the diverse world we live in and the diverse cultures we form. My process of creating assets, compositions, and various audio landscapes begins with letting the world around me inspire me with its natural "drop of the hat" moments. It is my job to capture those moments and process them in the most effective way possible in order to return them to every listeners ear in the most pure and honest way I can. Help them feel what I feel to an even greater degree.
My editing process, once the sounds are captured, is one of subtractive editing to grab the purity out of the sound, and then enhance the sound to its fullest potential. I want the sounds that came to me to be honored, and the ones created in my head to be properly recognized and distributed effectively. There are specific techniques to make this possible, but I treat every audio moment as if it has its own unique DNA because thats is precisely what it has.
The creative process of capturing audio (no matter what kind) tends to be as unique to the situation as the sound that is captured. Inspiration comes from every little moment experienced through my day. The sounds of nature, music, conversations, even down to the hum of a refrigerator or UV lightbulb inspires me. That being said, there are usually two ways for me to find, capture, and process these sounds. I either pull from something already running in my mind that is inspired from something around me, or implement experimentation to almost no end. Some of my favorite and most unique moments I have discovered come from a session of me experimenting with the sounds at my fingertips and all around me.
